We have reciprocal arrangements with bird guides in other parts of Australia and can arrange your birding trip anywhere in the country. Popular destinations include tropical north-east Queensland, the Red Centre, Broome and the adjacent Kimberley, and south-west Western Australia.
There are five key birding regions in Southern Australia, each comprising its own species and unique landscapes. The southern coastal strip roughly between Adelaide and Melbourne is one of the key hotspots where a one or two week birding trip can yield over 250 species. Habitats include wetlands and coastal areas, the Murray river, the vast mallee eucalypt scrubland and tall forests. Further inland, the famous Outback deserts and ancient mountain ranges are home to some legendary bird species. The outback is traversed by the legendary Strzelecki and Birdsville tracks, home to a rich variety of birdlife including the engimatic Grasswrens, chats and various raptors including the elusive Grey Falcon and Letter-winged Kite. Birding Australia's Red Centre, around Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Alice Springs, has become much more accessible in recent years and the spectacular rock formations and sandy deserts are home to Grasswrens, Purple-crowned Emu-wrens, raptors and parrots including the rare Princess Parrot. At both extremities of the continent we find high numbers of endemics. In the South-West, tall forests and extensive heaths are home to Noisy Scrub-bird, Western Bristlebird and Western Whipbird, as well as a variety of parrots and robins; while in Tasmania, all 12 endemics can be seen in a day or two although a longer visit is warranted.
Whether you are anticipating a few hours, a few days or a few weeks birding, we can arrange it for you at competitive rates.
