    Six Grasswren tour

    A high-paced birding trip targeting 6 species of Grasswren in 6 days:

  • Striated Grasswren in the Bookmark Biosphere;
  • Short-tailed Grasswren in the Flinders Ranges;
  • Western Grasswren on the Eyre Peninsula;
  • Thick-billed Grasswren in the Strzelecki desert;
  • Eyrean Grasswren in the Strzelecki desert or Birdsville track; and
  • Grey Grasswren in the Bulloo River overflow or Goyders Lagoon.


    • Other good species targeted during this trip are Red-lored Whistler, Black-eared Miner, many Honeyeaters including Pied and Grey-fronted Honeyeater, Chestnut-breasted and Banded Whiteface, Chestnut and Cinnamon Quail-thrush, Crimson, Orange and Yellow Chat, Gibberbird, Ground Cuckoo-shrike and many more.

    Depending on seasonal conditions, we will either go up the Birdsville Track or the Strzelecki track / Corner Country. Same price, and mostly the same birds.

    As of 2012 these tours depart late in the afternoon of the day before. You get a meal and an extra night's accommodation at no extra cost! See brochure (below) for details.

    Cost for tour: $3295 AUD per person including accommodation and all meals, based on double or twin-share occupancy. Single occupancy attracts a surcharge. Not included: drinks and personal expenses. Earlybird discount of $195 applies for bookings received up to 6 months prior to departure date. (June tour earlybird discount extended till 24 Jan '12!) A 5% return-client discount applies to eligible clients. Group size: Maximum 8 participants.
